For example, you might really like to include someone\u2019s else image in your presentation or another\u2019s recording in your video.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scifundchallenge.org\/scifundsolutions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/creativecommons.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-89\" src=\"https:\/\/scifundchallenge.org\/scifundsolutions\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/creativecommons.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the rules of traditional copyright heavily frown upon just using someone else\u2019s stuff without permission. Lucky for you though, there is a class of copyright license \u2013 called Creative Commons \u2013 which encourages reuse and remixing of content. Even better, there is an unending supply of Creative Commons-licensed material just waiting for you to use. Images, audio, video &#8211; you name it, Creative Commons has got your back.<\/p>\n<p>There are a ton of storehouses of Creative Commons-licensed stuff, but here are just a few to get you started:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Images: <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/Main_Page\">Wikimedia Commons<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Video: <a href=\"https:\/\/videos.pexels.com\/\">Pexels<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Songs: <a href=\"http:\/\/freemusicarchive.org\/\">Free Music Archive<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Creative Commons licenses come in a few different flavors, which vary in the latitude they provide for reuse.\u00a0 SciFund Challenge has a lot more to say about those licenses in our Video for Scientists class.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scifundchallenge.org\/self-guided-class-video-production\/video-class-part-14-using-other-peoples-stuff-in-your-video\/\">Here\u2019s the relevant section<\/a>\u00a0of the class material.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-summary\">\nWant to use other people&#8217;s stuff in your video, podcast, presentation, or other communications thing?
